After having designed the Gorilla Suit Construction Workshop logo for John Young, his internet consulting company Tikaro Interactive wanted what they called a "real™" logo.

John has a great visual understanding so the whole process was kept "open" right from the beginning with sharing of sketches and random ideas.

The final logo goes by the name "Gearxel" and is a pixel/gear because that's what Tikaro does: It makes the net work for you.

This process also sparked the tradition of giving logos names - there's reason to the madness as a logo that has a name simply cannot be generic - it has to have a striking visual personality, so naming a logo is actually a very good way to see if we have achieved awesomeness.

Above is a scan of the first, lose sketches that shows how our brainstorming led us into fantasy roleplaying steampunk territory with gears, ligthning bolts and flames before backtracking to sanity. Going out there (believe us, we've been further out than a bit of steampunkery) is crucial to any idea development, because you might just find your idea out there.
