Littaros is a literature portal for the town of Århus and the name is a mashup of "litteratur" - which is Danish for Literature and "Aros" which is the old name (experiencing a revival) for Århus - so it's literature in the city, it's living literature and we wanted to portray "living" as slightly uncontrollable as opposed to the very controlled printed literature, hence a lovely, fat splat.

We simply wanted the logo to be strong and alive. The mix of hard lines and random spattered ink seems to do the trick.

On a technical note, the spattered ink is made up of five or six different ink-blots chosen amongst around 20 splashes and carefully organised for aesthetic and symbolic reasons - like the top "foot-prints" that convey movement.

The logo is shown in one of the two coloured versions here, apart from those, there's a black logo and a light grey one.
