The students were getting into making little mockups and test dummies and found out that making a dummy isn't just presentation, but is part of the design process.

Getting them to think about packaging as something that's not necessarily a cardboard box worked and they had a go at using different - to them unknown - materials and techniques. This was something else than their previous experiences with graphic design, the third dimension was a godsent.

It's funny how progress is always slow at the beginning and then towards the end, the students pull all nighters to get done, but what they did make was mostly awesome and I hope they're able to apply this kind of thinking to later projects.
