Spadeaced (now there's a tonguetwister) was a little night-time project I did in the early spring of 2006.
In my town, if you no longer want you telly, put it out on the street on, say the first Monday of the month and a truck will come and pick it up. (Different day for each hood.)
Most of the time people just put the no longer loved sofas out whenever they feel like it, if it's electronics and they still work, we usually put a little note on them. Very often the shit's gone within 24 hours. It's a pretty good system although the angry old people hate that the streets aren't pretty. I was researching psychological warfare in order to become better at my job at the ad agency and I looked into the so called "Death cards" that are partly myth and partly psy-ops targeted at your own troops. (Most psy-ops stuff is really for your own troops, the enemy usually just finds it ridiculous.) I converted a ace of spades into a stencil, sprayed some adhesive on to the back and took to the streets, marking the dead appliances and furniture of my town. After a while the stencil got a bit messy and I went home.
