Welcome to Robotown!

This was a basic, straight forward toyhacking workshop which was slightly daunting as I myself is merely an amateur (one toy hack under the belt) but once again it proves that the main skill needed in any of this is creative and logical thinking.

I showed them various motorised walking techniques, as all the robots would be walking robots, well, a lot of them were actually shuffling robots, a bit like moody teens in the UGG boots. I taught them soldering (which I had only properly learned the night before) and generally encouraged them to just be excited about making crazy walking robots - Although the most energetic of them broke the rules and made flying and noisemaking machines, all good.

I made a few mobile- phone vids of the event, see them here
