The Berlin version of Every Thing is Black or White was at Supalife Kiosk in Prenzlaur Berg. It was in April but it was a sunny time and arriving two hours before the show was to open, a sweaty me set everything up, including a tribute to Berlin and a bunch of "74b" standees. This show also saw the introduction of the 1:1 scale DIY gun which people have a tendency not to read. A guy came up to me asking if the gun was some sort of statement, I told him yes, off course it was and he just looked puzzled. "Have another look at it." I then told him and only then did he see the reversed grip. The Berling opening was great, there's is no Toy crowd in Denmark, so off course I had to explain a lot at the Manual show, but in Berlin people accepted the fact that these things on display is the artwork and took it for what it was. A few toy-interested people showed up too. I kept meeting the people from the opening again and again and was invited to Kaffee und Tanz at Laura's where I also met Mieke whom I knew from Black Wonderland again. Read on |
