I wanted to make a travelling show with the figures and got started on making them, thy were part manufactured by me, part resampled of existing bits of toys - inspired by the way graphic design/art direction works, you get these pieces, texts, messages, photos, logos and so on and your job is to make these many things one thing. working on the 12" figures was interesting and also mirrors the despressing state that "designer toys" seemed to enter around mid-2006. If designer toys are to be viewed as an art-form, a majority of the stuff is a Monet-reproduction or crying children. I'm not claiming that my contribution was any less shallow, I mean, this is pretty much the standard hommage to the Star Wars Trilogy, THX 1138 and so on, but it is definitely a different flavour. Well, production of six figures went on through 2006 and part of 2007. The figures were named 26, 02, 74b, 42, 45 and 00. the all black 00 was the last one made and is a fitting finish to the tale that this somehow became without me spinning it.
